NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A California-based security firm has been fined for allowing a broker who had been barred in New Jersey to continue working.
The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs announced the sanctions Wednesday.
WestPark Capital was fined $50,000 with $20,000 suspended. The broker, Harry Datys of Warwick, N.Y., was fined $15,000.
Consumer affairs officials alleged the 47-year-old Datys got up to four New Jersey residents to change their addresses to a business address of post office box in New York so he could do business with them. Datys’ registration was revoked by New Jersey in 2008.
