NJ authorities seeking truck in pedestrian’s death

HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Bergen County authorities want the public’s help in identifying a vehicle that struck and killed a man on Route 4.

County prosecutors say Englewood police received a call just before 4 a.m. Wednesday that a pedestrian had been struck near the intersection of Route 4 East and Grand Avenue, a few miles from the George Washington Bridge.

Forty-nine-year-old Calvin Troy Dixon of Englewood was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities believe Dixon was struck while walking near the top of the entrance ramp to Route 4 East. The vehicle was heading east and is believed to be a large truck, bus or tractor-trailer with dual wheels.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the prosecutor’s office or the Bergen County police department.
