MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) — A central New Jersey driver who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian has been charged with death by auto.
Morris County prosecutors announced the charges against 27-year-old Samuel Generelli of Landing on Wednesday, one day after the accident occurred in Roxbury Township.
Authorities say Generelli’s car was engulfed in flames when officers arrived around 6:40 p.m., but they did not say if he was injured in the accident.
The male victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Generelli’s bail was set at $100,000. It was not known if he had retained an attorney.
