FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The College of St. Elizabeth in Florham Park has notified 17 professors they’ll be out of jobs by the end of the year.
The layoff notices come after the women’s liberal arts college founded by the Catholic Sisters of Charity religious order laid off 14 staff members last spring.
School official Deborah McCreery tells the Daily Record of Parsippany (http://dailyre.co/1fty7Vb ) the cuts involve the school’s women’s college, coed graduate division and coed undergraduate continuing education division.
McCreery says the school of 1,552 students is looking for ways to increase enrollment. That includes opening the women’s college to men.
The college employs 310 faculty members, including 64 full-time.
