Bullet hits school bus in Newark

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — No children were injured when a bullet struck a school bus in New Jersey’s largest city.

Newark police say a man was wounded in the gunfire on 1st Street Thursday. He’s in stable condition.

Police say the bus, which was carry six teenage special needs students, was driving through the location when the shooting started. The children were taken to a hospital as a precaution and released.

Police are looking for as many as four suspects who fled the area in a black vehicle. No arrests have been made.

Police have not released the name of the wounded man.
