Big family hit by Sandy to share lottery winnings

BEACHWOOD, N.J. (AP) — With 17 siblings, the Endreson (EHN’-dress-uhn) family was already well-known in the New Jersey shore area by sheer numbers alone.

Their public profile rose even more this week when they hit New Jersey’s Pick-6 lottery jackpot for $20 million.

They credited their mother, who before she died about 10 years ago had been a regular lottery player. The children kept the tradition going by pooling their money, and it paid off.

The family has decided to take a lump sum payment of $14 million, which is worth about $10 million after taxes. In addition to the 17 siblings, who range in age from 53 to 76, three children of one of the siblings whose father died recently will share in the winnings.
