OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey police say two officers delivered a baby boy in the back of a taxi parked at a 7-Eleven convenience store.
Ocean Township police say they were called to the parking lot a little before 6 p.m. Wednesday because a cab passenger was in active labor.
An ambulance was also sent, but the baby did not wait for the emergency medical technicians to arrive.
Officers Raheem Carter and Kyle Kane were credited with the delivery.
Police did not release the name of the mother, a 28-year-old Lakewood resident.
She and her baby were taken to a hospital.
