AAA Mid-Atlantic: NJ gas prices still falling

2-8-14

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are still seeing lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the state on Friday was $3.23, down a penny from last week. That’s also much lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.55.

The drop marks the fifth straight week that gas prices have fallen in New Jersey.

The national average price was $3.27, down a penny from last week. But that’s also much lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.56.

Analysts warn that prices will likely rise in the coming weeks, as demand increases and seasonal maintenance gets under way at refineries.
