Cancer takes a shocking toll on New Jersey. In 2011 an estimated 49,000 people were diagnosed with cancer and more than 16,000 died from the disease. In Somerset County alone, each week an average of 30 individuals are diagnosed with cancer and about 10 individuals die from the disease.

The Steeplechase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center enables Central New Jersey cancer patients to see their doctors, undergo outpatient treatment and participate in promising center research studies – all in one place close to home. The state-of- the-art facility houses radiation therapy services, infusion therapy service, a nationally-accredited breast care program, complementary medicine services, nutrition counseling, genetic counseling, a patient resource library and a Wellness Boutique.
